The Memory of You

The sun, it shines bright,

Just open your eyes.

This love isn’t blind,

It’s just covered with lies.

Let go of the darkness,

Come back to the light.

Despite what you think,

I love, with all of my might.

Don’t torture yourself,

You love me back too.

Blinded by fear,

Not knowing what to do.

Take me again,

Hold me ever so tight.

Press up against me,

Every single night.

Despite that you’re gone now,

I still hold on tight.

I know that you’re suffering,

So I try to keep things light.

I try to be me,

I try to see you.

At times we disagree,

But this love is still true.

I wake up with a smile,

Loving my life.

Although you’re not with me,

And I’m not your wife.

Although you’re not here,

I still hold you close.

But when I go to sleep,

It’s then, I miss you the most.

You walk right beside me,

Our souls still connect.

Despite that you left me,

I give you respect.

Our love goes in circles,

Well, your love, not mine.

It grows, but not stably,

Despite years, despite time.

I wish you well,

In the end.

No matter what,

You’re my friend.

Just keep in mind,

Wherever we go, whatever we do.

Nothing, and no one,

Can change the memory of you.

  1. Normally I don’t read articles on blogs, however I would like
to say that this write-up truly compelled me to reach out and do so!
Your writing style has amazed me. Beautiful poetry. Thanks, Keep up the great work!

  2. Fantastic blog! Do you have any tips for aspiring writers?
I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress or go
for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m
totally overwhelmed .. Any tips? Appreciate it!

    1. Thank you Merle. As far as tips for writers, I’d have to be generic and say to let go and write whatever is in your heart, but to be cautious not to hurt other with your words and what you say. I’m no expert on platforms yet. I started on Blogspot and was very happy. I just thought I’d add to what I was doing and also create a WordPress with my own domain name. I’m loving writing on this site. I personally don’t feel the need to put a lot of money towards getting some elaborate theme or platform, but that’s me. It’s a personal preference I suppose. I’m still new at WordPress, other than writing with Elite Daily. They write on the same platform and I found it to be quite easy. I got mine through GoDaddy and so far, I’ve been really happy with it.

  3. Beautiful poem. I really like it when individuals get together and share opinions. You get a lot of comments, it’s great to read some of them.

    Great site, stick with it!

  4. Such pretty poetry. Please let me know if you’re looking for a writer for your blog.
You have some really great articles and I feel I would be a good asset.
If you ever want to take some of the load off, I’d absolutely love to write
some material for your blog in exchange for a link back to mine.
Please shoot me an email if interested. I love your blog! Regards!

  5. I just couldn’t leave your web site after reading this, and I came back just to tell you. Beautiful writing, and I can tell you write straight from your heart. I’d love to actually meet you one day Anne.

  6. Greetings Anne! This is my first visit to your relationship blog! We are a collection of volunteers
and starting a new initiative in to help bloggers in the same niche.
You have done an outstanding job! We will come back to see what you’ve written new. 🙂

  7. This is such a heartfelt post. I can tell you’ve experienced so much by reading this. Either that, or you have a great imagination. Superb Anne! – Milla xoxo

  8. Hello! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering
which blog platform are you using for this website? I’m getting tired of
Wordpress because I’ve had issues with hackers and I’m
looking at options for another platform. I would be
great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.

  9. Hi! Someone in my Myspace group shared this website with us so
I came to check it out. I’m definitely loving the information. I’m book-marking and will be tweeting this to my followers!
Excellent blog and brilliant style and design.

  10. Hey would you mind stating which blog platform you’re working with?
I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m having a hard time
    deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and
    I’m looking for something unique.
P.S Apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!

  11. Thank you for this last one. It is very well written. I like that we are truly free when we have our memories. No one can take them away.

  12. “Nothing and no one”
    Except you
    Can change the memory
    Of whomever
    Of what ever
    They come back around
    They are shaped by time
    By circumstances
    By moments past
    Do they exist?
Only if we want them to
    Formed in our minds
    And kept
    In our hearts
    When to let go
    When is time
    No more
    When are we truely free
