If you haven’t been on a cruise ship, your honeymoon is a perfect opportunity to do it for the first time. Vacation on a cruise ship is a unique experience, and everybody should try it at least once because there is nothing quite like it. After an exhausting wedding planning and even more exhausting ceremony and reception, you will be able to relax completely. When you go on a honeymoon cruise, you’ll forget what day it is, and you’ll enjoy the breathtaking view of shores and beaches with your beloved. Here’s what you need to know:

Compromise With Destination

Not many couples have exactly the same vision of their dream vacation, and places they want to see and things they want to experience often differ. This is where couples need to be wise and talk things through, even
agreeing on a third option – a neutral ground for both of them. No matter if you chose the romantic Mediterranean or an exciting Caribbean cruise, you will certainly see breathtaking places, enjoy delicious food, and goof around together. Do a bit of research before you choose, check the prices, and see how far you’ll have to go from the port to do some sightseeing. All of this will undoubtedly help you make the right choice.

Living on a Cruise Ship

To be honest, a lot of things depend on whether you will choose a smaller or a bigger ship, as each brings you a completely different cruise experience.  Smaller ships have fewer activities and they usually have smaller cabins with less space. These ships are perfect for young couples who don’t care about the ship experience but want to discover exotic destinations. Lack of activities is compensated with more port days, so if you are an explorer and not a conformer, these ships are perfect for you. Bigger ships offer much more activities – they have gyms, sports tournaments, offer a wide variety of different restaurants… These are a better option for people who want to relax, spend more time on the ship or who need a more spacious cabin.

Make an Itinerary and Book Ahead

Life on a cruise ship can be exciting, but you’ll want to explore some of the ports too. There will be official tours you can book, but you don’t want to wait for the last minute. Some tours will be overbooked or perhaps twice as expensive than they’d have been if you’d booked them in advance. Another great strategy is to determine where you want to start your journey. For instance, if the cruise starts in Sydney and you don’t want to start there because you planned to spend few days in Melbourne,
it’s not a problem to book a Melbourne cruise and shorten your cruise time. In that case, you have to make your way to Melbourne port terminal and make sure you embark on time.

Things to Remember

If you haven’t been on a ship before, you probably don’t know if you are seasick or not. Don’t worry, seasickness
can be easily treated with seasickness pills, getting some fresh air on the pool deck, or by eating a nice dinner in a restaurant. If you’ve booked a tour and the ship arrives one day early or later than it’s stated in the itinerary (it sometimes happens due to bad weather), you can still cancel your reservations without any penalties.

Spending your honeymoon on a cruise ship can be one of the most romantic things you’ve ever experienced. It’s important to know what you expect from your cruise, do a bit of research before you book anything, and be ready for an adventure. After all, you want your honeymoon to be a great experience you’ll remember for years to come.
