The ACC (American Chemistry Council) mentions that the use of bags made of plastic rather than paper bags offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the eco-friendly initiatives to protect the Earth. The ACC mentions that the production of these bags involves the use of 70% less amount of energy as compared to the production of paper bags. There is also 91% less energy used to recycle these bags in place of paper bags.

1. HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) bags 

It is one of the commonest forms of plastic bags. There is minimal branching in the polymer. The chemical structure of HDPE ensures that these bags are highly dense, comparatively opaque, lightweight and sturdy. HDPE bags are known to be capable of holding a lot of weight but without tearing or breaking. These bags are safe to transport and package foods. HDPE is used for making:

• Utility bags
• Laundry bags
• Garbage bags etc.

The polymer’s chemical composition has a long chain of straight molecules having a linear structure from the start to the finish. Plastic bags can be chosen online to keep all storage items for grocery and also for stationeries like books, copies, and pencils. Apart from this, plastic bags are easy to carry and you can also choose colored or semi-colored plastic bags to store major of your items. 

2. LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene) bags 

Such bags are used commonly in making plastics and utility bags, to be used for packaging foods. This type of plastic has a low melting point, which makes it perfect for heat-sealing of applications.  The resulting bag or film cannot be stretched as HDPE. These plastic bags are used in food joints and restaurants for packaging foods. 

3. LLDPE (Linear Low-Density Polyethylene) bags 

These bags are commonly used for making:

• Food bags
• Garbage bags
• Newspaper bags etc.

The polymer that is used here consists of non-branching chains. However, it has lower tensile strength than HDPE. The clarity and gauge of LLDPE are comparatively lower than HDPE, although the strength is preserved. Thus, LLDPE is an economical choice and thus preferable over LDPE. These plastic bags are common choices for laundry stores and for storage of items in the refrigerator. 

4. MDPE (Medium Density Polyethylene) bags 

It stands somewhere between HDPE and LDPE. Although the density is not as opaque as HDPE, the transparency is less than that of LDPE. Thus, the film ultimately lacks the density to allow -storage of bulk items. However, it is extremely tolerant to exposure to chemicals. Its tensile properties are lower, and it stretches easily. Thus, it is used only for packaging films or in garbage bags. 

5. PP (Polypropylene) bags 

This is among the most common and favoured forms of plastic bags. This material boasts of very amazing properties of chemical resistance. It is extremely strong and is able to bear the heat and high temperatures due to a high melting point. You need to contact manufacturers, exporters, and suppliers to get an idea about how to do a bulk purchase. 

These plastic bags are used for packaging and storing medicines, syrups, candies, ketchup etc. among various other items that are sensitive to liquids. You can use it conveniently for packaging various hot supplies without the risks of damages. However, many countries have now banned plastic bags because they do an excessive amount of damage to the environment. Plastic does not break into small molecules, so they are harmful to the environment. This is the reason why animals get choked and die due to the bad effects of plastic.
