We’ve all gone through hard times in life. And we’ve all definitely had our lowest of points. But have you ever noticed how some people will tell you that when you’re at a low point or when you’re going through a hard time, that there’s only one way to go from there, which is usually up? Although that type of advice can be uplifting and even considered inspirational or words of wisdom, I must disagree to some extent.

You see, when you’re going through hard times or when you feel that you’re at your lowest of points, it’s a 50-50 whether things will get better from that point or whether they’ll just keep getting worse. The only way to change things in your life and to have them improve for the better, is by doing something differently than you have in the past. When something doesn’t seem to be working for you, stop doing it, and realize that whatever you’ve been trying to do hasn’t been working.

If something doesn’t work for you, you need to do something different, and by different, I mean that you should probably start looking outside of the box, and trying different methods in order to get what you want. So if you want something in your life to change and improve for the better, you need to stop the pattern of making the same mistakes over and over again, and you need to create a clean slate and come up with some new ideas as to what you can do to improve.

Whether it comes to business, relationships, or different goals that you’re hoping to achieve, you can’t keep trying the same method over and over again when it’s not working. Many times people fail, and will do so over and over again because of this simple concept. People simply feel that not giving up on something is good enough, and that they’ll eventually get what they want if they keep trying and pushing forward. But unless you’re going to do something to change what wasn’t working in the past, the likelihood of having things improve or of accomplishing what you hope to, isn’t very good.

You have to be willing to try different methods and explore different ways of getting what you want in life. And in order to do that, you have to be open to it, you have to be open to change, and you have to be open to listening to the opinions of others. One of the biggest reasons that we don’t listen to the opinions of others is our ego, or because we simply want to know that we are the sole reason for our accomplishments and ultimate success. But we should all know that just because we listen to the opinions of others, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to take their advice or do exactly what they think will work. By listening to the opinions of others, you can create a whole new platform in your mind where you’ll end up having new possible ideas, new solutions, and possibly a whole new approach that you might’ve overlooked or simply didn’t think about.

Just remember, you should never let your ego run the show or be stubborn to the point where you don’t or aren’t willing to listen to the opinions of others. Be willing to try different things, and be willing to listen to the advice or opinions of others, knowing that ultimately you’ll make the last and final decision. But never, and I mean never give up or feel hopeless if or when things get hard or when you’ve been repeatedly trying the same thing over and over again. Be willing to open your mind up more, because at the end of the day, you have to remember that your main goal is to get what you want in life, and if anything can help you do that, you should be open to it.
