If you have ever wanted to give back to your community, then you have no doubt run into the realization that it can be quite complex to create a volunteer event all on your own. Although there are certain ventures which require a large amount of staff and money to begin, there are plenty which you can do all on your own. Here are four types of volunteer events that are simple for one person to organize.

1. Registering People to Vote

If you are passionate about making a political change within your community, getting people to the polls is the best way to accomplish that. Fortunately, many states allow just about anyone to help register people to vote. All this takes is a little research into your state’s requirements, a printer, and a group of volunteers ready to begin knocking on doors. You can also get permission to visit fairs and festivals in your area. It’s a great opportunity to reach out to a large number of young people to get them registered to vote.

2. Host a Dog Benefit

Pet owners love their furry friends so much, and they are always ready and willing to show them off, especially if it’s for a good cause. That is why the option to host a dog benefit is one of the best volunteer events that you can organize on your own. In fact, there are plenty of organizations already out there that may be able to help you with funding or supplies for your event.

3. Organize a Car Wash

Organizing a car wash as a way to help fundraise for a charity or bring awareness for a good cause is one of the easiest things to organize on your own. This is because the tools needed to accomplish this are both readily available and affordable. All you need is a wide-open space with plenty of room for cars to maneuver around, and you’re good to go. This is a volunteer event you can get your family and friends involved in as well. Kids can play a role in the car wash and it can get them involved in community volunteering at a young age.

4. Collecting Food for the Less Fortunate

There are, unfortunately, many families within all communities that don’t know where their next meal is going to come from. If this is something you want to help with, organizing a volunteer event to raise funds or collect food for the less fortunate is very simple to accomplish on your own. All you need to do is spread the word via social media or through other social circles about a day where those with cars are asked to bring in supplies to your local food bank.

As you can see from the information above, there are plenty of volunteer events that you can easily throw by yourself. However, it must be noted that you should always conduct your research into these types of events to help reduce legal risk on your part.
